Think about what you'd wear to meet an important client or interview—polished, professional, authentically you:

  • Best Choices: Solid colors in mid-tones and jewel tones (navy, grey, burgundy, teal)
  • Blues convey trust and confidence on camera
  • Well-fitted clothing: Not too tight, not baggy—tailored is ideal
  • Collared shirts and long sleeves are timeless and flattering
  • Jewelry: Keep it simple—studs or small earrings work best

Studio Session prep: Bring 2–3 outfit options and layers (blazer, sweater, scarf) for variety. The studio has a private dressing room for wardrobe changes.

Single Image (Express) prep: Arrive camera-ready in the outfit you want photographed.

As a headshot specialist, I use a proven technique that sets my sessions apart:

  • Live viewing on screen: Your camera is tethered to a laptop, so you see every shot instantly
  • Real-time coaching: I review images with you and make adjustments as we go—this is my #1 tool for better expression and posing
  • Collaborative process: You're not guessing how you look; you see exactly what's working
  • Your pace: I take the time needed to capture authentic, confident images that represent you professionally

This immediate feedback approach ensures you leave with headshots you're excited to use, not surprised by later.

Happens often. If a decision-maker isn't in the room — your agent, your spouse, your brand or marketing lead — and you'd like their input before I retouch your finals, I'll send a private preview link with 8 to 12 lightly edited options for them to review with you. You send back your three, I do the full retouching and deliver.

Honest tradeoff: this adds about a week to your timeline because we're doing two rounds of editing instead of one. Worth it when there's a real decision-maker outside the studio. Less ideal if you're under deadline — in that case, bring the decision-maker with you, or trust your gut on the day. Either path works; just helps to know which one you want before we start.

Studio sessions happen at my Wayne studio (Eagle Yards, Suite 1021). You come to me, we have a private dressing room, the full lighting setup is permanently installed, and the session is built around the individual.

On-site sessions happen at your office. I bring all the same equipment to your conference room, set up in about 30 minutes, and photograph people in 3-5 minute slots.

  • Studio is better for: individual portraits where you want time for multiple looks and outfit changes
  • On-site is better for: teams of 6+ where you want everyone photographed in a single day with consistent lighting

Image quality is identical — same camera, same lights, same direction.

That's specifically what tethered live monitoring is for. You see every frame on the studio monitor as it's taken, in real time. If something isn't working — angle, expression, light, outfit — we adjust before we move on.

By the end of the session you've already picked the favorites with me. There's no surprise gallery later, no second-guessing. In ten years of running sessions this way I've never had a client leave without images they're confident in.

If anything ever did go truly sideways I'd reshoot at no charge — but the live-monitor process is designed so it doesn't get that far.

Yes. I work regularly with:

  • Financial advisors at firms with strict ADV and brand-compliance requirements
  • Attorneys at firms with rigid bio-page formatting
  • Healthcare practices that need consistency across hospital-system provider directories

I deliver in any aspect ratio, resolution, and color profile your firm requires, and I'm familiar with the most common compliance formats — Edward Jones, Morgan Stanley, Vanguard, Penn Medicine, Jefferson, and others. Send me your firm's photo spec sheet at booking and I'll match it exactly.

Every 2-3 years for most professionals, sooner if your appearance has changed meaningfully — significant weight change, new glasses, new hairstyle, gone gray, grown or shaved a beard.

The test: someone walking into a meeting with you should recognize you from your LinkedIn photo. If they wouldn't, you're due.

  • Realtors and on-camera professionals — every 18-24 months
  • Executives and board members — can stretch to 3-4 years if your look hasn't changed
  • Anything past 5 years old almost always reads as dated, regardless of how good it was
